I’ve long wanted to build another boat of some sort after building my Kayak a few years ago…and I’ve been especially interested in sailboats for some reason or another. After a bit of time on a hobie cat this summer, I decided to build one. While trying to decide on what to build, I came across an old “5o5″…which is a racing dinghy thats been around for a while, but is still one of the quickest monohulls out there. 5o5 refers to the boat’s length of 5.05m, or 16.5′ or so. I don’t have the boat at my place yet, but I did pick up a mast for a great deal…. Much more to come.
